Highland Valley United Methodist Church places a high priority on ministering to families and children. An ideal situation would be that when a child begins a church program that he/she would continue to grow in mind, body, and spirit and continue advancing through all programming offered all the way to adulthood. Our goal is to make your children excited about coming to Highland Valley UMC and look forward to the next phase of their life, whether it is advancing to an older Sunday School Class, being a part of adult church, or even moving to Youth Group.
The many programs offered here at Highland Valley UMC for children, ages 3 years through fifth grade, include Sunday School morning classes in the Education Building from 9:30-10:30, Children’s Church following the Children’s Moments during the 10:45 worship service, Kids’/Youth Clubs, held every Sunday evening from 4:45-6:30 p.m. and Vacation Bible School held in the summer months. There are also extra programming sprinkled throughout the year such as “Wacky Wednesdays” , trips to places like the Pumpkin Patch and Zoo, Halloween Carnival, Family Fun programs, a community Easter Egg Hunt, and Christmas caroling. The children will learn about giving and helping others as we do projects to raise money and supplies for agencies such as The Geyer Springs’ Food Pantry, Pulaski County Humane Society, the Red Cross, several local nursing homes, and participate in the Great American Bake Sale to help end childhood hunger.
Children are a gift from God and should be treasured! Here at Highland Valley United Methodist Church children SPARKLE!
