PRAISE TEAMS

A: Singers & instrumentalists are needed to lead the music in our contemporary worship service, The Vine., held on Sunday mornings at 9:00 in the Family Life Center. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30. The praise teams lead on a rotation basis.

INSTRUMENTALISTS

A: Various instruments are used as soloists or to accompany choir selections during the year and special music for the seasons of Christmas and Easter. Anyone interested in sharing their gifts is invited to serve in this capacity.

YOUTH PRAISE

Y: Youth Praise is composed of 6th-12th graders and meets on Sunday evenings at 4:30 in the gym. The Youth Praise Team leads the contemporary service, The Vine, one Sunday a month and sings monthly at the 11:00 Traditional Worship Service. Special youth outings to sing at various nursing and rehabilitation facilities are planned, along with a summer Youth Choir Tour, when feasible.

KIDS PRAISE

C: This group of children, ages 3-5th grade, will sing praises in a fun, upbeat setting in the gym. They will meet on Sunday at 4:00 pm. The children will sing one Sunday a month in the 11:00 Traditional Worship Service.

Grace Notes

A: The Grace Notes Choir is our senior adult choir that enjoys singing familiar hymns. The choir is in service to others; visiting the nursing homes, and bringing cheer to many. All you need to do to join is enjoy music, have a good spirit and a willingness to share in great fellowship with others. Grace Notes meet the 4th Tuesday of each month at 10:00am.

Handbell Choir

A: Handbells are used at Highland Valley in a variety of services, many times during special services. Rehearsals are at 6:30pm Tuesday with seasonal breaks.

Chancel Choir

A/Y: The Chancel Choir reaches out through music to share the word of God in worship and with each other in a community of Fellowship. The level of musicianship varies among our members from strong music readers to those who do not read at all. The only requirement is a love to sing and willingness to share. The choir meets for rehearsal each Wednesday from 6:30-8:00pm and leads the music at the 10:45 service on Sunday mornings, as well as special seasonal programs. Childcare is provided. 

Highland Valley Arts Academy

A/Y/C: The Highland Valley Arts Academy is a program offered to the church and community by Highland Valley United Methodist Church, with all classes held at the church.  Semesters for the Arts Academy begin in August and in January of each year. ART CLASSES

A/Y/C: Taught by Cheryl Gilstrap, Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings.

PIANO LESSONS

A/Y/C: Teacher is Betty Morgan. Beginning to Advanced Levels. Scheduled at the convenience of the teacher and student.
