Service Opportunities
Our House Dinners
Throughout the year, small groups of youth provide dinner for residents at the "Our House" shelter for neighbors without homes. This service time includes meal preparation and serving to the "Our House" residents on a Friday evening.
MISSION
Highland Valley Youth participate in several projects each year designed to address local needs. During Christmas the youth provide a gift wrapping service called Merry Mission. All donations from this project help provide Christmas gifts for a young boy and girl. The youth help assemble flood buckets for the Arkansas Rice Depot several times during the year. At the beginning of the school year the youth solicit donations of school supplies for children in need in the Little Rock School District. All mission work is designed to give the youth the ability to help the local community.
OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
The Highland Valley Youth participate in many other service areas. Parent's Night Out or PNO is held every other month as a babysitting service to allow parents to take a break. The youth also work at different times during the year at the Arkansas Rice Depot and University of Arkansas Little Rock at the Wesley Foundation.
